Redwood Veterinary Surgical Services

When your pet needs surgery, you want it done by an accredited hospital and by a surgeon with skilled hands that comes with decades of experience. You want a hospital where the procedures have been audited and a hospital that has been physically inspected by veterinary experts. You want a place where the staff is well-trained to handle unexpected situations that may arise. You want a hospital that has invested in state-of-the-art monitoring technology. Redwood Veterinary Hospital prides itself as being one of only ten Salt Lake Animal hospitals that is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. We have continually invested in surgical monitoring equipment and operate with the state-of-the-art equipment. Our operating room and surgery area has been continually updated. Our pain management procedures meet or exceed AAHA standards.

Dr. Gina has over two decades of surgical experience and during that time has performed a wide variety of difficult surgeries. The hospital also performs veterinary orthopedic surgeries including: Tibial Plateaus Leveling, Corrective Osteotomies, Cranial Cruciate Ligament Repairs, and other orthopedic surgeries. These are performed at our AAHA facility by a visiting veterinary orthopedic surgeon.

Our pain management procedures meet or exceed the AAHA standards for veterinary medicine. Our recovery procedures include a veterinary assistant that stays with your pet until they are awake - not all hospitals will do this. We feel that it is important to take that extra step for all our clients as that is the way we do it for our own pets. Our surgical procedures all include electronic monitoring of your pet's vitals during surgery - some veterinary hospitals do not own that type equipment as it is too expensive. We do as it is a best practice in medicine to electronically monitor the patient during surgery. We have a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machines for both dental and general x-rays. Many hospitals still use film x-rays as they are less expensive. Digital x-ray machines are very expensive, but they are also a best practice as they give your clearer images, offer better resolution, and are nearly instantaneous - so we own both a general x-ray machine and a dental one.
